How to Set Up and Install a Meta Pixel

Follow the steps below to successfully set up and install a Meta Pixel on your website. Before you begin, you will need a website for your business and the ability to add code to your website's header.

How to set up a Meta Pixel

Step 1

• Go to Events Manager
• Click the + button
• Select Connect data sources and choose Web

Step 2

• Select Meta Pixel and click Connect

Step 3

• Add your pixel name

Step 4

• Enter your website URL to check for easy set-up options
• Click Continue

You have now successfully created your Meta Pixel. Next, install it on your website.

Option A: Manually add the Pixel to your website

Step 1

• Go to Events Manager

Step 2

• Select the pixel you want to set up

Step 3

• Select Install code manually

Step 4

• Find the header of your website, or locate the header template in your CMS or web platform

Step 5

• Paste the base code at the bottom of the header section, just above the closing </head> tag
• Press Continue

Option B: Use a partner integration

Steps

1. Go to Events Manager
2. Click the Data Sources icon in the left-hand panel
3. Select the pixel you want to set up
4. Click Continue pixel set up
5. Click Use a partner from the list
6. Select your platform partner from the list
7. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the integration

Option C: Email instructions to a developer

If someone else manages the code on your website, you can email them setup instructions directly from Events Manager:

1. Go to Events Manager
2. Select the pixel you want to set up
3. Click Continue Pixel set up
4. Click Email instructions
5. Enter the recipient's email address
6. Click Send at the bottom of the page
